Institute of Bio and Geosciences - IBG and Symrise, Germany surveyed and worked with RoyalAgarwood
On April 3, 2018, the Institute of Plant Sciences Research at the National Research Center in Julich (Institute of Bio and Geosciences - IBG Dep. Plant Sciences IBG-2), Germany, led by Professor Ulrich Schurr, collaborated with Symrise Company, Germany, led by Dr. Johannes Panten. Together, they surveyed and worked with RoyalAgarwood at their farm in Dien Khanh, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. The Vietnam Agarwood Association, represented by Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, and the Khanh Hoa Agarwood Association, represented by Mr. Dang Vu Phuong, welcomed and participated in the event.
During this collaboration, the research team assessed the quality of Vietnamese agarwood, evaluated the current status of agarwood development, and discussed potential cooperation opportunities for supplying Vietnamese agarwood raw materials to the global market. The German experts also studied soil conditions, and regional climate, and gathered information about the Aquilaria Crassna forest ecosystem. They collected agarwood tissue samples and samples of fungal components responsible for creating agarwood.
RoyalAgarwood showcased its activities and the Hoang Tram Museum, which preserves the historical and cultural significance of agarwood. The event concluded with a Certificate of Merit awarded to Hoang Tram by Mr. Nguyen Van Minh for their outstanding contributions to developing and building the Vietnam Agarwood Association.
